Welcome!!
How we see ourselves as a "Disciple"
Congregation
United Christian Church is one of 3,500 congregations in the U.S and
Canada who call themselves "Disciples." The Christian Church (Disciples
of Christ) is the first Christian denomination founded on American soil.
The Disciples faith is one of religious freedom and responsibility. We
believe that each person has a unique and valuable insight into God's
Word in scripture. Together we challenge each other by sharing our
perspectives and intentionally seeking to grow in faith and
understanding. We not only tolerate diversity, but in fact "encourage"
it. Whether your stance is theologically or socially conservative,
liberal or a mix in between, you will find respect and a welcoming
spirit in this congregation.
We do not require adherence to any creedal system of belief ... we often
say "We have no creed, but Christ." We practice the believer's baptism
by immersion although all forms of baptism are accepted. Disciples
cherish the idea of "the priesthood of all believers". In other words
we are all ministers. Men, women, and children take their place along
side the pastors in worship and church leadership.
If you want more information or have pastoral needs call the church
office at 937-832-3516 and ask to speak to one of the ministers.
